Of the materials used in glasses, Columbia Resin #39, or CR39, is the most common and least expensive plastic material available for glasses today. Columbia Resin no. 39, or "standard plastic" as it is more commonly known, is the number 39 plastic polymer formulation that came out of the Columbia Resins project in 1940.

Colors of sun protection filters The most used are brown, green and gray . All of them must increase contrast and allow the perception of colors with very few alterations. Depending on the ametropia of the people:
- The filter BROWN It is usually a good option for nearsighted and astigmatic people.
- The filter GREEN It is usually a good option for people with farsightedness.
